Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers and assist with loading and unloading. You will operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks while verifying freight documentation and ensuring secure stowage inside trailers.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, are at least 18, and can perform required lifting, bending and team-based tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing/freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
