Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Assistant Traffic Coordinator to coordinate and dispatch non-ferrous truck shipments, negotiate freight rates with carriers, and ensure on-time pickup and delivery between facilities and broker accounts.

This role requires 2–3 years in traffic/transportation, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills to manage carriers, facilities, traders, vendors, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and/or dispatch non-ferrous truck shipments.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
• Insure on-time pick-up and delivery between facilities and broker accounts.
• Maintain accuracy of invoices and freight rate database.
• Back up other traffic coordinators as needed.
