Job summary

Overdrive Logistics seeks a detail-oriented Traffic & Dispatch Coordinator to support freight movement, ensuring seamless communication between drivers, carriers, and internal teams. This role serves as the primary contact for drivers and manages shipments from pickup to delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and focused on customer service, with experience in logistics and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience in customer service and/or logistics preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with transportation management systems is a plus.
• Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
• Ability to remain focused and productive for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with account managers, carrier reps, dispatchers, and drivers to obtain shipment and driver information.
• Execute dispatch procedures and monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery (cradle to grave).
• Provide real-time tracking updates and identify/deliver delays or issues.
• Update transportation management systems with load status, timestamps, and logs.
• Respond to and resolve driver or carrier concerns, escalating when needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on-time pickup/delivery and service standards.
• Maintain communication with leadership regarding performance and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
