Mercer Transportation in Louisville, KY is seeking a Freight Coordinator to manage routing and communication for freight shipments. You will work with customers and carriers to move freight efficiently and resolve delivery issues.

You will solicit and book freight, monitor shipments, coordinate with Mercer and outside carriers, track mileage and rates, and prepare rate bids. The role requires strong customer service, geography knowledge, and independent problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergraduate degree preferred with relevant courses and training in Sales Management.

Responsibilities

• Solicit and book freight from new and existing customer accounts.
• Seek new customers and build strong relationships.
• Monitor customers' websites and emails and respond promptly.
• Coordinate with Mercer team to move freight.
• Tabulate mileage and rate charges; ensure proper commission splits and advances.
• Provide rates on rate bid packages.
• Analyze problems and determine best solutions for customer satisfaction and Mercer profitability.
• Enter Loaded, Empty, Advance and Check Calls for trucks.
• Coordinate with Mercer and outside carriers to find suitable freight and enter driver locations accurately.
