Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend operating rules and bulletins.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with railroad safety rules, FRA regulations, signals and train orders.
• Inspect equipment on cars prior to departures.
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Read and follow bulletins, work orders and switch lists.
• Assist with coupling/uncoupling and operate switches.
• Coordinate car movement with customers and provide good service.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure rail safety.
