Job summary

CSX is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, manage car makeup and breakdowns, and ensure loading/unloading at various sites. New hires may earn retention bonuses and receive paid training in Atlanta with travel and on-the-job support.

Responsibilities include signaling procedures, equipment inspection, and strict adherence to safety and FRA regulations while maintaining excellent customer service and timely communications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend operating rules, bulletins and regulatory documents.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform safety-sensitive tasks and work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate train crews and oversee safe makeup/breakdown of trains.
• Inspect equipment and read bulletin/work orders.
• Communicate via radio/phone and relay information to yardmasters/engineer.
• Work with customers to ensure accurate car movement and loading/unloading.
• Comply with FRA regulations, railroad signals and train orders.
• Adhere to safety rules and report issues promptly.
