Job summary

CSX Corporation is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, place rail cars for loading/unloading, and makeup/breakdown trains in rail yards or customer facilities. Training occurs at the Atlanta Training Center in Atlanta, GA with four weeks of paid instruction and a daily meal allowance.

New hires may receive retention bonuses after year one and year two, with guaranteed pay opportunities and overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Must read and comprehend operating rules, bulletins, and regulatory documents.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and follow safety rules in a railroad environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate train crews and facilitate safe movement of locomotives and cars.
• Inspect equipment prior to departures and read bulletins and switch lists.
• Relay information via radio/phone and ensure customer service excellence.
