Job summary

CSX is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, place rail cars for loading/unloading, and makeup/breakdown trains in a yard or customer facility. Training occurs in Atlanta with paid rates during OJT, plus generous earnings potential in the first years of service.

Qualified candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, pass drug and background checks, and be willing to live within 50 miles of the posted location with no relocation assistance offered.

• Live within 50 miles of posted location or be willing to relocate within 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate train crews and ensure safe operations.
• Inspect equipment, read bulletins and switch lists.
• Communicate via radio and telephone with yardmasters.
• Work with customers to ensure accurate movement of cars.
• Operate locomotive equipment and follow FRA regulations.
