Job summary

Saia is a logistics and transportation leader seeking a Freight Claims Intake Specialist to support the intake, validation, and administrative processing of freight claims up to $1,000. You will manage the claims inbox, verify required documentation, and prepare claims for investigation according to company policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus experience in claims processing, customer service, or administrative support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in claims processing, customer service, or administrative support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with transportation systems (AS400 or similar TMS platforms) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Claims inbox, triaging customer inquiries, guiding claim submissions.
• Reviews incoming damage notifications and verifies if a claim has been filed.
• Processes daily work queues and logs claim documentation for investigation.
• Conducts basic investigations using shipment records, delivery docs, photos, and bill of lading notations.
• Coordinates with internal departments and vendors for inspections or follow-up documentation.
