Job summary

Blue-Grace Logistics LLC is seeking a Claims Specialist to manage the end-to-end freight claims process, including filing, investigation, reconciliation, negotiation, and resolution, while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role requires direct freight claims experience, strong NMFC knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to minimize exposure and secure fair settlements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience with direct freight claims experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong understanding of freight claims processes, carrier liability, NMFC classifications, and transportation regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload, manage multiple claims simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate claim documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with carrier requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of customer claims as assigned by the Senior Manager of Claims.
• Investigate shipment issues with carrier partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to determine claim validity.
• File and manage claims through EZ Claims platform and maintain accurate claim records.
• Monitor claim activity and provide status updates to customers and internal teams.
• Review carrier claim denials for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues.
• Apply NMFC knowledge and regulations when evaluating claims.
• Negotiate with carriers to secure fair settlements and favorable outcomes for customers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for claims inquiries from Sales, Customer Success, and Operations.
• Partner with Finance to ensure proper claim reconciliation and resolution.
• Provide claim reporting, trend analysis, and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Meet or exceed established performance metrics and KPIs.
• Support process improvements and mentor less experienced team members.
• Maintain understanding of claims accounting processes and related operational workflows.
