Job summary

Jamison is seeking a Certified Court Reporter in Montgomery, AL. The role requires travel for in-person requests and owning a stenographic or recording system. Reporters may be asked to read portions of transcripts during investigations and ensure assignment coverage for multi-day proceedings.

A valid Notary Public license and proper certification are required by state law. Assignments are paid per hour and may include federal holiday pay, PTO, sick leave accrual, and a 401(k) with company

Qualifications

• Own transcription equipment (stenographic machine/computer or dictate into a recording device).
• Must be willing to travel for in-person requests.
• Read portions of transcript upon request and clarify inaudible statements.
• Available to continue assignments lasting multiple days.
• Must arrive 30 minutes before hearings; for telephonic hearings contact 30 minutes prior.
• Licensed Notary Public with ability to administer oaths and maintain E&O insurance.
• Certified as required by state laws where service is performed.

Responsibilities

• Provide court reporting support services as required by customers.
• Send completed recording to JPS-secured VPN Portal after assignment.
• Work on assignments only when requested by the customer; not a full-time role.
• Possibly participate in background checks (NACI/SAC) as part of clearance.
• Remain available if a proceeding lasts more than one day.
