Overview

Jamison Professional Services is hiring a Certified Court Reporter located in Alexandria, VA to provide remote and/or in‑person court reporting services.

Responsibilities

• Provide court reporting support via telephone, VTEL, VANTS, or Lync online services when remote.
• Travel to in‑person requests and arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled hearing.
• Read portions of transcripts during investigation hearings and ask speakers to clarify inaudible statements.
• Transcribe recorded material using a personal stenographic machine or dictation equipment.
• Continue assignments that last more than one day.
• Send completed recordings to the JPS‑secured VPN Portal immediately after each assignment.
• Work Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm for the respective time zone in the Continental United States.

Qualifications

• Certified court reporter recognized by the NCRA, NVRA, or AAERT.
• Valid license as a Notary Public with Errors & Omissions insurance.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a Federal Government background check (Tier One NACI and SAC may be required).
• Availability to travel for in‑person requests and to work outside contract services as long as it does not interfere with Jamison commitments.

Benefits & Compensation

• Hourly rate: TBD (currently $30.00 per hour).
• Paid federal holidays, paid Personal Time Off (up to 80 hours per year), and sick hour accrual (up to 56 hours per year).
• Optional 401(k) plan with up to 2% company matching through Transamerica Retirement Services.
• Company‑paid travel expenses for out‑of‑area assignments.
