Job summary

Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is seeking an Operations Specialist - FRB Settlements to manage trade processing and settlements with FRB and related counterparties. You will handle trade settlement, TBA processing, client communication, and reconciliation within the securities business.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and clear written/verbal communication. A BS/BA or equivalent experience is required, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Process all deliver and receive orders settling with other brokers/banks – US Government and Federal agency Mortgage-Backed securities clearing through FRB (Bank of NY) for our custody accounts. Adhere to all daily deadlines.
• Verify the trade information vs. broker presentation received from the client via the Sonic system. This includes account number, quantity, CUSIP, etc.
• Manage daily volume.
• Review and resolve discrepancies in order information received (for example FRB reclaims).
• Escalate problem items as appropriate.
• Communicate professionally and constructively via email, phone, etc. with internal and external clients and counterparties to resolve issues to minimize risk and exposure.
• Provide superior client service.
• Communicate as part of a team.
• Contribute to Management Reporting. This may include providing statistics on work volumes.
• Gain efficiency to improve individual productivity.
• Gain an understanding of the big picture – how specific function impacts the firm.
• Contribute to Division or Firm process improvement activities.
