Job summary

Osmo is a digital olfaction company seeking a QC Technician to lead fragrance-related testing and judgments on incoming materials and finished goods. You will apply sensory evaluation and lab instrumentation to uphold quality standards, with authority to accept or reject in real time.

The role requires fragrance industry experience, strong documentation, and the ability to operate independently on a daily basis on-site in Elizabeth, NJ.

Qualifications

• Fragrance industry experience required.
• Ability to make independent QC decisions.
• Strong documentation habits and record-keeping.
• Sensory and olfactive evaluation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Judge incoming raw material results and decide defects vs normal variation.
• Apply olfactive judgment to evaluate materials and finished goods.
• Run triangulation testing on outgoing product to ensure consistency with prior batches.
• Make real-time accept/reject calls; escalate only ambiguous cases to QC Manager.
• Cover QC sign-off when QC Manager is unavailable, keeping production moving.
• Maintain and calibrate lab instrumentation (GC/MS, colorimeters, etc.).
• Maintain audit-ready lab records: test logs and certificates of analysis.
• Mentor QC Tech staff on fragrance testing and olfactive judgment.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving on sample flow.
