Job summary

Osmo is a fragrance tech company seeking a Senior QC Technician to lead day-to-day quality judgments for raw materials and finished goods. You will apply sensory evaluation alongside automated tests, making critical accept/reject calls in real time.

This role requires hands-on lab work, calibration and maintenance of GC/MS and related equipment, and mentorship of QC staff. On-site in Elizabeth, NJ, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Fragrance industry experience or exposure required.
• Comfortable making high-frequency accept/reject calls independently.
• Trained nose with sensory and olfactive evaluation skill.
• Strong hands-on experience with lab instrumentation; GC/GCMS familiarity is a plus.
• Strong documentation habits.
• Able to step into QC decision-making in the Manager's absence.
• Technical degree preferred (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering) or equivalent lab experience.
• On-site in Elizabeth, NJ, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Judge incoming raw material results from automated testing and decide if out-of-spec readings are defects.
• Apply olfactive judgment to evaluate raw materials and finished goods.
• Run triangulation testing on outgoing product to confirm batch consistency.
• Make real-time accept/reject decisions, escalating only ambiguous cases.
• Cover QC sign-off when the QC Manager is unavailable to keep production moving.
• Maintain and calibrate lab instrumentation (GC/MS, photosampler, colorimeters).
• Maintain audit-ready lab records and documents.
• Mentor QC Tech staff on fragrance-specific testing and judgment.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, and Fragrance Development on sample flow.
