Altera in Austin, TX, seeks an experienced FPGA validation engineer to lead the development and optimization of software tools and FPGA design flows. You will work on compilers, runtimes, and firmware closely tied to FPGA silicon and boards, while driving validation strategies and automation.

The role requires 8+ years in FPGA or related tool flows, strong scripting skills, and a proven ability to lead teams and communicate technical results effectively.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of FPGA development, software-tool verification, or validation, including hands-on with FPGA design flows.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or project leadership coordinating validation work.
• Strong understanding of FPGA architectures and tool flows from design entry to timing analysis and hardware execution.
• Experience developing validation strategies, test plans, regression suites, defect reports, and release-quality assessments.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (Python, Perl, Tcl, shell) and CI/CD or automated regression infra.
• Ability to debug cross-layer FPGA issues and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and communication in cross-functional environments.

• Develops and optimizes compilers, flows, assemblers, models, tools, runtimes, and/or firmwares for FPGA silicon and boards.
