Altera Corporation is seeking an FPGA design applications engineer to join the Software Validation and Customer Experience Group in the Bay Area. You will create example designs that showcase Quartus software and assist customers by debugging issues and answering questions.

You will define and develop tests, review requirements, and prepare user guides, demos and training to accelerate design success, and contribute to AI skill development for faster customer design cycles.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors in Computer/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years related experience.
• Experience with FPGA design software tools and third-party simulators.
• Experience debugging and using signal analysis tools.
• Experience creating FPGA designs including minimal software (BareMetal).
• Experience with FPGA development boards or similar.

Responsabilités

• Create example designs that showcase Quartus software and teach customers how to use our tools.
• Respond to customer technical questions, debug issues, and drive resolutions with engineering and customers.
• Review specifications, perform product evaluations, and provide feedback on ease of use.
• Define and develop example designs and unit tests and perform checkout for feature releases.
• Review product requirements and design best-in-class customer journeys across assets and touchpoints.
• Develop technical assets such as user guides, application notes, demos, and training.

## **Job Description:**Altera is leading the way to transform how we design FPGAs. In this position, you will be joining the Software Validation and Customer Experience Group as an FPGA design applications engineer specializing in Quartus Software tools and example design solutions. You will help revolutionize our customer experience by using your design knowledge and leveraging our FPGA software and AI tools to reduce cycle time.A successful candidate is an FPGA designer who has hands-on experience with FPGA design software and knows how to design, simulate and debug FPGA designs. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:* Creating example designs that showcase our product and teach customers how to use our software tools.* Responding to customer technical questions, debugging and reproducing customer issues, and driving issue resolution with the engineering organization and customers.* Reviewing specifications and requirements, performing product evaluations, and providing feedback on ease of use.* Defining and developing example designs and unit tests and performing checkout to ensure the readiness of feature releases.* Reviewing product requirements and designing a best-in-class customer journey by identifying assets, use cases, user personas and touchpoints (web, git repository, forums etc.).* Developing technical assets such as user guides, application notes, example designs, demos and training that will enable users to successfully design with our products.* Creating AI skills and agents to reduce customer design time.The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance. $133.2K - $212.7K USD We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.### ## **Qualifications:****Minimum Qualifications** A successful candidate should possess a Masters of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering with a minimum five years of related applications engineering or system design experience. Minimum qualifications include:* Experience with FPGA Design Software tools and common third-party simulators* Experience with debugging and using signal analysis tools* Experience with creating FPGA designs including minimal software (BareMetal)* Experience working with FPGA development boards or similar Preferred qualifications include:* Experience with Power and Thermal Analysis* Familiarity with GitHub workflows and Visual Studio Code* Experience with using AI tools and creating skills* Experience creating FPGA designs that include PCIe or SoC, including basic software
