Job summary

RTX is seeking an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Multi Product Power & Digital Team within the Electrical Engineering organization in McKinney, Texas. You will contribute to the development of FPGA designs for major vendors and device families, and participate in the full design lifecycle from requirements through test.

This internship emphasizes hands-on experience with VHDL/Verilog, FPGA tooling, and collaboration with circuit card designers and systems engineers to translate requirements

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM and enrolled through internship.
• Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming.
• Experience with FPGAs, microprocessors, or other programmable logic devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA designs for major vendors and device families including Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip.
• Implement designs using VHDL/Verilog for gigabit interfaces, RF interfaces, DSP, control logic, data links, or embedded processing.
• Collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements and model algorithms, partition and code, simulate and implement.
• Verify designs against requirements using directed and constrained random testing.
• Provide design support from requirements through integration and test, including documentation and configuration management.
