Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking an FPGA Electrical Engineer I to join the MPD Department to work on production FPGA designs and EDA toolchains. You will design, implement, verify, and maintain FPGA/Lab-based solutions across multiple programs, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering with hands-on FPGA experience and proficiency in tools such as Vivado, Quartus Prime Pro, or Libero.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design or verification (VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog).
• Hands-on integration and debug of FPGA/ASIC in a lab environment.
• Experience with source code management and code release in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support of production quality FPGA designs for major vendors and device families.
• Generate FPGA designs for gigabit serial interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links, and embedded processing.
• Assist with architecture development of FPGA-based systems and CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL/Verilog for reliability and maintainability.
• Support design verification with self-checking tests and measure coverage.
• Report execution status within budget and schedule using an agile framework.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides.
• Function as an individual contributor and present work to leadership.
