Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Multi Product Power & Digital Team. You will collaborate with electrical engineers to develop FPGA designs and verify against requirements.

Focus areas include VHDL/Verilog coding, FPGA devices from Xilinx, Intel (Altera) and Microchip, and integration with test equipment. This internship offers hands-on experience and potential full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or related STEM and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming.
• Experience with FPGAs, microprocessors, or other programmable logic devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA designs for major vendors and device families including Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip.
• Implement designs using VHDL for gigabit serial interfaces, RF interfaces, DSP algorithms, control logic, data links, and embedded processing.
• Collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, model algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and implementation.
• Verify designs against requirements using directed test and constrained random test methodologies.
• Provide design support from requirements through integration and test, including documentation and configuration management.
