Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer II for Tucson, AZ. You will develop FPGA designs using VHDL/Verilog for Xilinx and Microsemi devices, collaborating with circuit card designers and systems engineers to meet aerospace requirements.

The role emphasizes design, verification, documentation, and potential leadership of small teams. A DoD Secret clearance is required, with interim clearance eligibility, and relocation assistance is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required; minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog coding.
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial concept to production.
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and CONOPS.
• Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests and track coverage.
• Lead projects to meet program schedules and budgets.
• Create complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides.
• May lead small teams and mentor junior engineers.
