Job summary

Northfield Park Racino is seeking a Fountain Worker to provide prompt, courteous service with friendly hospitality, efficient order-taking and beverage service in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle cash, maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, label products, and assist with opening/closing duties while ensuring guest satisfaction and safety.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, weekend and holiday shifts, and 1+ year experience in food service or guest service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience as a food handler in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant preferred.
• 1+ year guest service experience preferred.
• Experience working in a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the Fountain Worker to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service while displaying salesmanship and friendly hospitality skills.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Take and place order(s) and serve and garnish food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable.
• Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and the appearance of the front and back of house, clear tables and counters; sweep and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area without interfering with the comfort of guests.
• Pack and complete order as per guests' preference with any necessary condiments.
• Properly label and date products per safety and sanitation procedures.
• Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment.
• Unload warehouse orders and stock the orders to designated storage maintaining organization, stock and replenish products as needed in workstation, counters, tables, etc.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators and coolers, slicers and beverage machines
• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
• Basic computer skills and experience with varied Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Ability to handle multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks
• Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
