Job summary

Gupta Permold Corp in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a reliable Foundry Mechanic for the 3rd shift (11:30pm–8:00am) to set up, maintain, and troubleshoot foundry tooling, especially 2-piece core/cavity and ejection pins, to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has basic mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with hand tools, drills, grinders and torches, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to perform maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds & stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules
• Must be punctual, dependable & able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Set up of molds and related equipment for production, usually involves replacing worn ejection pins or drilling out clogged vents, and testing ejection function.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including: Bearings and bushings, Hydraulic lines, Fasteners such as bolts, Replace worn or damaged components as needed.
• Use hand tools and shop equipment safely and effectively (drills, grinders, torch).
• Inspect equipment to identify issues and prevent downtime.
• Follow all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout guidelines.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.

About this position

Summary:

We are seeking a reliable Foundry Mechanic person to join our team on 3rd shift, to set-up, maintain, and troubleshoot foundry tooling, generally 2-piece core/cavity + ejection pins.
