Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metro area. The role focuses on designing manufacturing processes, tooling, and automation to maximize efficiency.

Strong Lean, root-cause, and cross-functional collaboration are essential. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, SolidWorks proficiency, tooling experience, and hands-on automation/robotics exposure in heavy manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management experience required to run projects end-to-end.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Formal industry experience; flexible across industries.
• Die casting/stamping/finishing/plating or plastic injection molding experience preferred.
• Foundry experience desired.
• Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D/3D software (SolidWorks).
• Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis using statistical methods and Lean tools; recommend design/process changes.
• Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Conduct FMEA on designs, materials, or processes.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to boost productivity.
• Lead design experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA initiatives.
• Lead design review meetings for new/existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, parts inventories.
• Oversee automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, end-of-arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, machine design.
