Job summary

Sterling St James LLC in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant site in the southwest Atlanta area. You will design manufacturing processes, analyze layouts, improve workflow, and select parts and tools to meet product specs.

Responsibilities include tooling design with SolidWorks, implementing productivity improvements, root cause analysis, design of experiments, and leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use 3D modeling software (Solid Works) and Microsoft Office effectively.
• Must have tooling experience.
• Project management experience required to run projects in their entirety.
• Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.
• Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Foundry experience is desired; zinc or high pressure aluminum die casting or stamping or finishing or plating experience; plastic injection molding considered.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks.
• Implement productivity improvements across current production lines.
• Perform root cause analysis of failures using statistical methods and Lean tools.
• Design & implement production processes for new products and changes.
• Perform FMEAs on new and existing products.
• Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure productivity.
• Lead design of experiments and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead design review meetings for new/existing products.
• Create work instructions, statements of work, and inventories.
• Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, end-effectors, fixturing, gauging, machine design.
