Job summary

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Foundry Core Maker/Core Room Technician in Fairfield, IA. The role focuses on producing, finishing, inspecting, and assembling sand cores used in foundry processes. Training is provided for those with mechanical inclination and safety-minded mindset.

Responsibilities include operating core-making equipment, loading materials, assembling cores, and ensuring quality and safety throughout the shift. Previous foundry experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; training provided.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn core-making processes.
• Ability to read and follow production instructions safely.
• Team player capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate shell core and ISO-cure core-making equipment.
• Load and monitor sand, resin, and catalyst systems.
• Assemble and glue cores according to production specs.
• Inspect cores for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
