Job summary

Hodge Foundry in Greenville, PA is seeking a Journeyman Coremaker to prepare and finish iron cores for molding, including setting up core boxes, ramming, shaking out, patching, and applying core wash. You will work in a heavy industrial environment, read and follow instructions, and pursue quality while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Journeyman status acquired by completing a four-year apprenticeship program or four years of prior experience in a similar foundry environment.
• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written information accurately.
• Must have mechanical, spatial and reasoning skills and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Coremaker transports and places core boxes on roller conveyor for positioning at workstation.
• Assembles core patterns in core box, pastes and bolts them together, ramps and strikes off sand.
• After mold sets, coremaker shakes out and transports core to finishing area.
• Patches and smooths by sanding and then painting the finished core with wash.
• Place identification numbers or marks on cores.
