Job summary

The Lawton Standard Co. in Kentucky is seeking reliable individuals to join our Core Room team.

No foundry experience is required—we provide on-the-job training to help you learn a skilled core-making process producing sand cores for grey and ductile iron castings. As a Core Maker you will operate core-making equipment, load and unload core boxes, inspect and finish cores, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate core-making equipment.

• Monitor sand and binder systems and perform basic equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow all safety and quality standards.

What are the hours and pay?

1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday (plus overtime as needed)

Starting Pay: $22.52/hour

What is the job?

As a Core Maker, you'll produce high-quality sand cores that are essential to the manufacturing of grey and ductile iron castings used in industries such as mining, marine, HVAC, and oil & gas.

Responsibilities include:

• Operating core-making equipment

• Loading and unloading core boxes

• Inspecting cores for quality and accuracy

• Trimming, repairing, and assembling cores when needed

• Applying core coatings and preparing finished cores for production

• Monitoring sand and binder systems

• Performing basic equipment cleaning and maintenance

• Following all safety and quality standards
