Job summary

Hedge Specialty is hiring a founding wholesale broker to build and own our professional lines practice in San Francisco. You will combine retail-agency relationships, market judgment, placement craft, and relentless follow-through to yield durable revenue in professional liability, management liability, cyber, D&O, and EPLI risks.

Base salary ranges from $125K to $250K with an OTE of $500K and equity of 0.50% at hire plus up to 0.25% performance grant; target cash is $475K–$600K with

Qualifications

• Three+ years of brokerage, underwriting, or related experience in professional lines.
• Strong network and market judgment with disciplined execution.
• Ability to manage complex opportunities from intake to placement.

Responsibilities

• Build and own a focused retail-agency pipeline in professional lines.
• Qualify risks, shape submissions, and select markets for opportunities.
• Negotiate terms and drive placements from intake through bind.
• Develop relationships with underwriters and program markets.
• Maintain pipeline, renewal, and revenue forecasting.
• Translate placement knowledge into repeatable playbooks and product feedback.
