Hedge (YC P26) seeks a founding wholesale broker to build and own our professional lines practice in San Francisco. You will unite retail-agency relationships, market judgment, and placement craft to generate durable revenue across professional liability, management liability, cyber, D&O, and EPLI risks.

In this role you’ll own a focused agency pipeline, qualify risks, shape submissions, negotiate terms, and drive placements from intake through bind, while forging strong underwriter

Qualifications

• Three+ years of brokerage, underwriting, or closely related experience in professional lines.
• Strong network, sharp market judgment, and operating discipline.

Responsibilities

• Build a focused retail-agency pipeline in professional lines
• Qualify risks, shape submissions, and select the right markets for each opportunity
• Negotiate terms, explain tradeoffs, and drive placements from intake through bind
• Develop strong working relationships with underwriters and program markets
• Maintain disciplined pipeline, renewal, and revenue forecasting
• Turn placement knowledge into repeatable playbooks and product feedback
