Job summary

Fifth Dimension AI in New York City is seeking the first senior pre-sales engineer to own the technical side of enterprise deals across the US. You will craft solution architectures, run live demos with real data, and shape security and data pipeline narratives for CTOs.

Day to day you will lead discovery, respond to RFPs, build playbooks and battle cards, and coach AEs on technical positioning. Travel 25-30% across the US.

Qualifications

• You sell to CTOs and earn technical credibility in minutes; your pre-sales work closes deals.
• You differentiate 5D from competitors on LLMs, RAG, security architecture, and data pipelines.
• You build and run live demos with the prospect's actual data.
• You’ve navigated $250k+ deals through procurement, legal, and multi-stakeholder sign-off.
• You move fast, build your own decks and calls, and don’t rely on others for materials.
• You are the first dedicated pre-sales hire, thriving in a startup environment.
• Track record of shortening sales cycles.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and scoping with prospects, translating requirements into solution architectures and implementation plans that close deals.
• Build and run live demos with prospect-specific data to make the technical case compelling for procurement.
• Own RFP/RFI responses and security questionnaires; create technical collateral for deals.
• Build the pre-sales playbook, demo environments, battle cards, and competitive positioning.
• Partner with AEs to prioritize pipeline, coach on technical positioning, ensure high-value conversations have depth.
• Bridge won deals to the implementation team with clean handoffs and scoped requirements.
• Carry prospect technical requirements into Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap.
• Unite long-term product vision with daily deal execution and sales needs.
• Travel 25-30% to prospect and client sites across the US.
