The National Commercialization and Translation Institute (NCTI), housed under the University of Central Florida, seeks an accomplished executive to launch and lead a national institute focused on helping innovative technology companies move breakthrough ideas to market.

Reporting to the PI/PD, you will establish infrastructure, recruit teams, and build strategic partnerships to accelerate commercialization and economic impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience building new programs, centers, or organizations on an accelerated timeline.
• Experience administering milestone-based or tranche-based funding governance with auditable reporting.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day operations of the institute across all five objectives and ensure Year 1/Year 2 deliverables are executed.
• Supervise the institute’s professional staff and ensure coordinated delivery across SUPPORT, EDUCATE, ORIENT, CONNECT, and NETWORK activities.
• Chair the commercialization-support review committee and oversee milestone verification and funding decisions.
• Support institute governance with quarterly Strategic Board meetings and Selection Board coordination; maintain NDAs and conflict-of-interest protocols.
• Manage NSF relations: reporting, learning sessions, and compliance with NSF award terms and participant support costs.
• Oversee the operating budget (~$4M) and monitor expenditures, subawards, and procurement.
• Represent the institute externally with partners, investors, and national labs; plan investor showcases and cohort convenings.
• Lead risk management and continuous improvement, acting on external evaluator findings and ensuring a transferable NSF-compliant operating model.
