Job summary

National Commercialization and Translation Institute (NCTI) at the University of Central Florida seeks a Commercialization Director to shape a bold NSF-funded national initiative. You will work with innovative technology companies, guiding market opportunities, commercialization plans, and investor readiness while coordinating with a broad network of national resources.

The role demands deep experience with technology commercialization, startup ecosystems, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with startups, incubators, venture capital firms, or innovation-focused economic development organizations
• Experience advancing technology-based innovations including market validation, product launch planning, or go-to-market strategy
• Willingness to travel domestically and work in a national program setting

Responsibilities

• Support cohort selection and onboarding; input to national solicitation and review rubric; participate in finalist interviews.
• Lead diagnostic triage and Individualized Commercialization Plans (ICP) with readiness frameworks and milestone schedules.
• Deliver concierge support and manage the portfolio; recruit and manage embedded lead advisors; coordinate with partners and resources.
• Support governance and milestone accountability; verify milestones and prepare auditable materials for reviews.
• Fulfill research and data responsibilities; contribute to evaluation and data collection.
• Document the commercialization delivery model and incorporate evaluator findings.
