Job summary

UHP (Unlock Human Potential) seeks a Founding Director for CDL & Diesel Mechanic Programs. You will build two pipelines from the ground up, license and accredit the programs, hire and mentor instructors, and partner with employers to place graduates.

Expect to spend substantial time teaching during the build year, with growing emphasis as programs mature. The role blends education leadership with veteran-focused workforce development.

Qualifications

• Current Class A CDL, DOT medical card, and a driving record meeting FMCSA requirements.
• 5+ years of commercial driving experience or CDL instruction experience.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, inspecting, or repairing heavy trucks and diesel equipment.
• 2+ years leading people (driver manager, shop lead, training lead, or military NCO).
• Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT rules including hours of service and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead the launch of CDL and Diesel Mechanic programs from planning through first cohorts.
• Design or adapt curriculum aligned to ELDT and ASE Education Foundation standards.
• Specify equipment, range, shop needs, and coordinate procurement.
• Hire, supervise, and develop instructors; ensure compliance and accreditation.
