Job summary

Vincer is seeking a founding AI engineer to own the intelligence layer of a voice-first AI system, shaping how we build AI for life sciences customers. You will join as one of the first two full-time engineers, with no higher engineering organization directing you.

You will manage agent orchestration, evaluation, retrieval, and safety guardrails, working with our founders to set the AI direction and roadmap, in a Boston or NYC hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• 2+ years building and shipping AI systems in production that you owned.
• Experience designing agentic systems: routing, tool use, retrieval, context management, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience with multiple model providers.

Responsibilities

• Own agent architecture and orchestration for the intelligence layer.
• Develop evaluation, retrieval, grounding, and guardrails to ensure safe AI.
• Coordinate across models and data sources to deliver fast, conversational responses.
• Shape AI direction and future roadmap with founders.
• Address latency and cost through context management and routing.
