Job summary

Silicon Valley Bank is seeking a relationship management and business development professional for SVB Startup Banking. Based in New York, the RM2 will build and engage strategic relationships with founders, investors, and partners, while cross-selling SVB's platform.

The role covers the East Coast with in-market activity and includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a best-in-class client experience and market insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Experience OR High School or GED and 8 years of Relationship Management / Business Development in Fintech.
• Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, venture capital industry, and SVB's engagement with the VC community and its metrics and terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with startup founders and finance teams; cross-sell bank products and services; coordinate with SVB teams to deliver world-class service.
• Manage the financial performance, risk management and compliance issues of the portfolio.
• Deliver founder success through lead conversion, customer connections, and value-add for top-tier clients and partners.
• Create and deliver founder- and partner-specific events in market.
• Analyze data elements to support direct prospect engagement and convert leads to clients.
• Interacts directly with prospective clients to articulate SVB’s value proposition, products, and other services.
