Job summary

Veit is seeking a Safety Manager to reduce hazardous conditions and lead safety programs across construction sites, facilities, and fleets. You will train employees on health and safety protocols, write site-specific plans, and conduct regular safety audits to drive improvement.

The role requires OSHA-30, strong communication, and the ability to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while advancing Veit's safety culture and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, waste, or transportation industries.
• OSHA 30 Certification and safety training credentials.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety data collection.
• Strong written and verbal communication with coworkers, management, subcontractors, and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction, facility, fleet and field operation safety compliance across projects.
• Investigate safety incidents, near misses, workers' compensation issues and property damage; identify root causes and mitigation.
• Conduct in-house safety training and write site-specific safety programs and Health and Safety Plans.
• Perform site safety audits and provide coaching and training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, MDH, MPCA, DOT and other regulations.
• Maintain and distribute air monitoring instruments and required records/reports.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations and Veit policies; propagate updates.
• Travel as needed; communicate safety matters to supervisors and regulators.
