Job summary

Civic Nation seeks an Associate to support all aspects of the grant cycle for Foundations, including prospecting, outreach tracking, drafting proposals and reports, and documenting grants. Based in the Washington, DC area, you will join a collaborative Development Team and work in the DC office one day a week.

Qualifications include 2 years in nonprofit fundraising, strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, and experience managing donor records in HubSpot.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a nonprofit environment.
• Fundraising experience, including demonstrated success in grant writing and securing foundation funds preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience developing external materials.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate the grants process for the Foundation Portfolio throughout all stages.
• Prospecting: help identify new prospects, provide research, and find contact information.
• Proposals: manage the proposal process, timelines, and drafting language.
• Grant agreements: organize all grant agreements and funder materials for records.
• Reports: manage reporting processes and draft language.
• Coordinate with Finance for needed materials.
• Maintain donor database in HubSpot, including contacts and history.
• Quality-assure and proofread external materials.
• Provide administrative support to Development, including events and mailings.
• Prepare agendas and briefing memos for internal/external meetings.
• Represent the Development team at cross-functional meetings and events.
