Job summary

The Atlantic Council seeks an Associate to lead foundation fundraising from its Washington, DC headquarters. You will identify, research, and secure foundation grants, draft competitive proposals, and manage donor communications to build sustainable support.

The role emphasizes strong research, analytical writing, and relationship management, requiring collaboration across Development, Program, Finance, and Revenue Operations teams. Office in‑person four days a week.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in development or foundation relations.
• Strong research and analytical abilities with funding landscape experience.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear written materials.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams in drafting concept notes, project narratives, and full proposals.
• Coordinate budgets with Finance and ensure timely, compliant submissions.
• Maintain grant renewals and post‑award coordination with stakeholders.
• Lead prospect research to identify strategic funding opportunities.
• Produce donor communications and impact materials for stewardship.
