Job summary

Futures Without Violence in Washington, DC seeks a Development Manager specializing in foundation relations to grow our funder portfolio. You will manage a defined set of foundation partners, write grants, reports, and letters of inquiry, and drive prospecting to expand funding opportunities.

Collaborate with senior leadership to prepare for donor meetings, maintain accurate records in Salesforce, and ensure timely follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in foundation relations, or 10 years total experience.
• Proven success writing and managing complex grant proposals and reports.
• Strong project management with multiple deadlines.
• Experience with CRM systems and grant-tracking tools.
• Collaborative work style; ability to build trust with program staff.
• Excellent written communication; able to translate program complexity for funders.
• Genuine interest in prospecting and building the program.

Responsibilities

• Draft grant proposals, reports, and inquiries with program and grants staff.
• Ensure portal submissions are accurate and aligned with funder requirements.
• Serve as day-to-day relationship manager for defined funders; track correspondence.
• Maintain donor records and pipeline activity (Salesforce).
• Track gift acknowledgments and reporting.
• Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities.
• Prepare for donor meetings and coordinate CEO engagements and board events.
