Peace For DC is seeking a Development Manager to support fundraising, donor relations, and event planning. You will work with the ED and leadership to grow our donor base and advance campaigns.

The role emphasizes major gifts, annual giving, corporate partnerships, and special events in a mission-driven environment. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in nonprofit development and a strong network of philanthropic relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 3+ years in nonprofit development or fundraising.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience with senior/executive level collaboration and Board engagement.
  • Established network of philanthropic relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to gun violence prevention/intervention and social justice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Event planning experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in donor CRM (Givebutter) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the mission and values of Peace For DC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy including annual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, and special events.
  • Lead development and implementation of fundraising strategies and campaigns.
  • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping and stewardship.
  • Administer gift processing systems and generate gift acknowledgment letters.
  • Work with the ED to cultivate donor relationships and support donor meetings.
  • Plan and implement fundraising events and activities.
  • Review funding opportunities to determine organizational interest and strategy.
  • Develop annual fundraising plan and KPIs.
  • Collaborate on funding opportunities, cases for support, and proposals.
  • Assist in preparation of grant proposals and reports.
  • Research potential funding sources and opportunities.
  • Develop messaging to donors and prospects with Communications team.
  • Prepare regular fundraising progress reports and analyze donor data.
  • Provide administrative support related to development.
