Job summary

Futures Without Violence in San Francisco, CA seeks a Development Manager for Foundation Relations to manage a foundation portfolio, drive prospecting, and strengthen the organization’s funder relationships.

The role requires grant-writing expertise, systems thinking, and collaboration across programs. Hybrid schedule with at least two onsite days, reporting to Senior Advisor to the President.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years related work experience, OR 10 years combined in foundation relations or institutional development
• Demonstrated success writing and managing complex grant proposals and reports
• Strong project management with multiple deadlines
• Experience with CRM systems and grant tracking tools
• Collaborative work style and ability to build trust with program staff
• Excellent written communication and ability to translate complexity into funder narratives
• Genuine interest in prospecting and building scalable funder relationships

Responsibilities

• Grant Writing and Shepherding: draft proposals, reports, and LOIs with program and grants staff
• Funder Relationship Management: manage defined funder relationships and keep records in CRM
• Prospect Research and Pipeline Development: identify new foundation funding opportunities
• Executive and Organizational Support: assist CEO and Senior Advisor for donor engagement
• Assist board engagement, donor briefings, and events; manage quarterly board logistics
