Job summary

United Way of New York City (UWNYC) is seeking an Associate to join the Foundation and Institutional Relations team in NYC. This role supports UWNYC’s institutional fundraising efforts across foundation and corporate giving, focusing on research, proposals, and stewardship to advance community impact.

The Associate will help manage a growing portfolio of funding opportunities, coordinate with program and finance staff, and ensure timely preparation of grant materials, reports, and communications

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or a related field is required.
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate information and deliverables across departments and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor databases and CRM systems.
• Experience with Monday.com and Raiser's Edge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support prospect research and maintain the foundation prospect pipeline.
• Assist in preparing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
• Coordinate grant deadlines, deliverables, and renewal opportunities.
• Support funder stewardship materials and communications.
• Provide administrative support to the Foundation and Institutional Relations team.
