Job summary

The Opportunity Agenda is seeking a Development Associate, Institutional Giving to join the Institutional Advancement team. This role supports foundation giving through timely drafting of proposals, renewals, and reports, and helps with grant research, tracking, and relationship-building with funders.

You’ll collaborate with program staff, manage the database, assist with events and communications, and contribute development writing for updates and appeals.

Qualifications

• 3 years grant-writing or equivalent writing experience in a non-profit setting
• Strong written communication and editing skills
• Commitment to social justice and working knowledge of social justice issues
• Understanding of foundation fundraising principles
• Proficiency in MS Office

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and submit grant proposals, renewals and reports to foundation funders
• Coordinate with program staff to inform fundraising with deliverables and impact
• Develop briefing memos for staff and donors
• Prepare foundation profiles and memos for meetings with foundation staff/leaders
• Record deadlines, proposals, reports and deliverables in the database
• Support database list management and mass emails with outreach and communications staff
• Provide development writing for updates, website content, events and appeals
