Job summary

Spence-Chapin is seeking an experienced Foundation Relations and Grants Manager to own a fast-moving portfolio of grants, from outreach to reporting. This in-person role supports the Senior Director and Development team in a dynamic NYC setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in foundations/grants, strong writing and research skills, and proficiency with Raiser's Edge. The organization offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to impactful child welfare programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience)
• Minimum of 3 years of foundations and grants experience
• Proficiency with Raiser's Edge or a comparable CRM
• Experience with grant writing and foundation management
• Experience with pulling reports and analyzing data to improve strategies
• Familiarity with donor foundation research software such as DonorSearch, Foundation Center, or Wealth Engine
• Familiarity with tools such as iWave, RelSci, and Foundation Directory Online

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of grants from prospecting to submission and reporting
• Draft letters of inquiry and full proposals
• Manage grants post-award including operational tasks
• Research funders and align with program priorities for funding pitches
• Collaborate with Finance and program teams to develop budgets and ensure timely reporting
• Track payments and manage grant-related financial transactions
