Job summary

Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children in New York City seeks a Senior Director of Development and Advancement who will lead strategic philanthropy, expand donor pipelines, and deepen supporter relationships to secure growth in contributed revenue.

The role reports to the CEO and collaborates with the Board, executives, and program leaders to connect donors with meaningful opportunities that advance the mission of adoption and family support. Remote work is not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience).
• 7–10+ years of progressive fundraising and development experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy across individuals, major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations, events and other sources.
• Cultivate and steward a portfolio of major donors and high-potential prospects.
• Partner with CEO, board and senior leadership to drive donor engagement and strategy.
• Build and manage a robust major gifts pipeline and donor retention efforts.
• Oversee development operations, budgeting, analytics and ethical fundraising practices.
