Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• At least two years of teaching, training, or related professional experience.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success.
• Experience with online learning platforms and instructional technology preferred.
• Ability to work one Thursday evening and one Saturday each month.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in varied topics and settings.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment for current and former foster youth.
• Use trauma-informed teaching strategies to support engagement and success.
• Collaborate with program staff to develop materials, syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain attendance and instructional records per college policies.
• Coordinate with program staff, guest speakers, and support personnel to meet student needs.
• Refer students to campus and community resources (tutoring, counseling, financial assistance, mentorship, basic needs).
• Participate in program meetings, faculty development, and required training.
• Support student retention and completion with regular communication.
• Stay current in subject matter and instructional best practices.
• Comply with college policies, accreditation requirements, and FERPA.
• Perform other instructional and program-related duties as assigned.
