College of the Canyons invites applications for the Foster Youth (NextUp/Inspire Scholars) Instructor Adjunct Applicant Pool. Adjunct positions are part‑time as needed with flexible hours and assignments across Valencia or Canyon Country campuses to support a diverse student body.

Minimum qualifications include a California CC Counselor Credential or a Master’s in counseling or related field; equivalency options exist with a bachelor’s degree and an MFT license.

Qualifications

• Possession of an unexpired California Community College Counselor Credential or a Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or related fields.
• Equivalency: a bachelor’s degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) as an alternative qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead department and institutional initiatives; serve the needs of students, department, college, and community.
• Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources.
• Participate in department, division, college committees, and governance activities.
• Contribute to curriculum and program development.
• Work collegially within the college community and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Create a dynamic learning environment and engage diverse students; adapt pedagogy.
• Integrate new technologies into on-campus and online courses; communicate effectively.
