Job summary

The Humane Society of Central Texas in Waco is seeking a Foster Coordinator to run the program day to day. You will match animals with the right foster homes, support our volunteers, and track each animal from intake to adoption.

We value organization, clear communication, and the ability to juggle many cases. A valid driver's license and bilingual skills are a plus; the role is full-time with some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in animal welfare, rescue, volunteer coordination or program coordination.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to juggle many cases at once.
• Friendly, clear communication by phone, email and in person.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and database software (experience with Shelterluv or similar is a plus).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a related degree is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Match dogs and cats with foster homes based on each animal's needs and each foster's experience.
• Schedule intakes, transfers, vet visits and adoption events.
• Be the main contact for foster volunteers, answering questions, checking in and making sure they feel supported.
• Review foster applications, manage the waiting list and lead new foster orientations.
• Coordinate medical and behavioral care with our veterinary partners.
• Keep accurate records.
• Track program spending and help with foster-related fundraising and supply drives.
