Job summary

Thompson seeks a Licensing and Training Specialist in the Foster Care Department to recruit, train, and license foster parents. You will provide pre-service training, assess applicants, guide them through licensing, and submit documentation to the state, ensuring ongoing compliance and audit-ready files.

You will work 8–5 with occasional evenings or weekends, supporting families in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC, and collaborating with a team to place children safely while delivering strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and credentialing standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent written and oral communication.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and license foster parents.
• Provide pre-service training for potential foster parents.
• Assess and evaluate potential foster parents per state/agency policy.
• Guide applicants through licensing and submit documents to state and agency.
• Maintain compliant, audit-ready files and quarterly supervision/assessment.
• Collaborate with foster care coordinator to support placements and recruitment.
